The council has now confirmed that specialist access equipment is needed to allow a full assessment of the required repairs to take place. It has authorised scaffolding works and expects the contractor to begin installation in the final week of August. The council says it is working ‘as quickly as possible’ with contractors and expects to be in a position to provide an update in September. "The council is also working on contingency arrangements for Learn to Swim sessions, performance swimming programmes, and school swimming lessons.
