The smoke pushed air quality readings into extreme territory in parts of the Central Okanagan. ​We should get a break from the more intense smoke this week as unstable air moves in, possibly bringing thunderstorms. ​Some of the symptoms of exposure to wildfire smoke can include mild irritation of the eyes, nose and throat, headaches and a runny nose. ​To track smoke, go to firesmoke.ca or Environment Canada’s Air Quality Health Index.
