Washington — A newly released Pentagon report has revealed that U.S. military operations in 2025 resulted in the deaths of 153 civilians and injuries to 243 others, all stemming from three airstrikes conducted in Yemen.
The figures mark a sharp increase compared to the Pentagon’s assessment for 2024, which recorded two civilian deaths and two injuries.
By contrast, the Pentagon reported no civilian casualties from U.S. military actions in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific during 2025.
However, Reuters data compiled from casualty reports following U.S. strikes on vessels in those regions indicated more than 200 deaths since September 2025.
These figures were not included in the Pentagon’s civilian casualty report, as the victims were not classified as civilians under its criteria.
