The concerns were raised during Vice President Dr. James Wani Igga and Governor Adil’s visit to Yei River County this week. Speaking during his official tour of Lainya and Yei counties, Governor Adil acknowledged the poor condition of the road and said the government would intervene. Adil said the Juba-Yei Road remains a government priority, with plans to construct a tarmac road from Juba through Yei to Kaya, while also considering extending the road network from Yei to Maridi and Yambio. The road is a key transport corridor connecting Juba with Lainya, Yei River and surrounding communities, supporting the movement of people, goods and essential services.
