Katsina United have dismissed reports that their player, Chinedu Ozor, regained consciousness after he was pronounced dead following a medical emergency during a pre-season friendly in Katsina.
In a statement issued by the club’s Media Directorate on X, Katsina United said reports that the player later “came back to life” were false.
The club said the reports had added to the pain of Ozor’s family, teammates and friends who are mourning his death.
Behind the name Chinedu Ozor was a son, a brother, a teammate, a friend and a young man whose life meant so much to many people.”
Katsina United urged the public to give Ozor’s family and teammates space to grieve and allow the player to be remembered with dignity.
