Greensboro’s spot on the PGA Tour is secure — with a little help from state lawmakers.
The PGA Tour announced Wednesday that Greensboro’s tournament will be called GO by Raymond James and will be on the Tour’s new upper-tier Championship Series beginning in 2028.
The funding was contingent on the Greensboro event being part of the Championship Series from 2028 through 2031.
The Championship Series will feature the top players in roughly 24 events, including major championships, postseason events and international team events from February to August.
Greensboro has had a PGA Tour event since 1938.
