From August 13 to 15, 2026, the city of Sarajevo will host the “Sarajevo Mayors Summit 2026”, an international conference that will bring together mayors of cities in the region, representatives of the European Union, the OSCE Mission to BiH, international organizations, the diplomatic corps and experts in the field of sustainable urban development. Mayors and representatives of the cities of Zagreb, Ljubljana, Podgorica, Pristina, Ankara, Istanbul, Brussels, as well as high-ranking representatives of international institutions and organizations are expected to participate in the City Hall. One of the most important results of the Summit will be the adoption and signing of the Sarajevo Declaration 2026, a document by which the participants will confirm their common commitment to peace, sustainable development, climate responsibility, regional cooperation and the protection of cultural diversity. As part of the program, the participants will attend the ceremonial opening of the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival, which will further promote the cultural dimension of Sarajevo and its international significance.
