He told the commission that the financial transactions were connected to a reported R2.5 million contract placed on the life of a local tow-truck operator. Govender linked to R2.5 million alleged hitCentral to the testimony was a recorded phone call from 25 January 2023. "Bevan Loftus was informed that Clive Nica had offered Lieutenant Colonel Deena Govender R2.5 million to kill him. John concluded his evidence before the commission following his detailed account of the financial transactions and the circumstances surrounding the alleged murder-for-hire arrangement.
