Arbor Ales has issued an application to Bristol City Council for a premises licence for the Glassboat in Welsh Back, which was formerly owned and ran by 6 O'Clock Gin.
This latest development comes after BristolLive reported back in July that a distillery co-owned by actor and comedian Ricky Gervais had bought well-known Bristol gin company, 6 O'Clock Gin, who formerly owned the Glassboat venue.
6 O'Clock Gin began life nearly 30 years ago on a small fruit farm in Devon and has since grown into a Bristol business that includes a waterfront gin bar - The Glassboat - and selling gin to Europe, USA, Canada and South-East Asia, to name but a few.
In July 2022, BristolLive reported that the price had been slashed by around £100,000 after failing to find a buyer.
