Despite years of radio silence, it seems that Netflix’s live-action Yu Yu Hakusho remake is coming back for a second season. If Tokyo Sports’ report is accurate, it seems that the second season of the Netflix show will run into the same problem. For those unfamiliar with Yu Yu Hakusho, the series follows Yusuke Urameshi, a teenage delinquent who dies in a traffic accident while saving a child, earning him a second chance at life as a spirit detective. Although most live-action anime remakes have a horrible reputation, Netflix has found success with the format in recent years thanks to its surprisingly great spin on One Piece. That series is set to return in 2027 with a third season that will adapt the Alabasta arc.
