Police Scotland confirmed last month that terms had been agreed with Riverside Inverclyde for the lease of Ben Lomond View in Pottery Street. The site is set to replace the ageing local headquarters in Rue End Street as part of the force’s wider ‘estates masterplan’. Drawings submitted alongside the application indicate the site will also feature prefabricated dog kennels and new electric vehicle charging points. Police Scotland first announced plans to replace its Greenock station in 2023, with concerns being raised locally over the future of policing in the area. The site will be leased to the force initially, with an option to purchase within two years.
