Two construction workers clung to scaffolding nine stories up after its ropes snapped, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services. On Tuesday at around 4:12 p.m., fire and rescue crews were dispatched to a residential apartment building located at 9701 Fields/Washingtonian Towers Road in Gaithersburg for a report of a scaffolding collapse. Upon arrival, crews discovered a collapsed scaffolding on the 9th floor, which trapped the two construction workers. The workers managed to escape through a 9th floor apartment window. Crews managed to secure the scaffolding and left the scene in the care of building management.
