“Existing EV-auto drivers have already invested their money in their vehicles and are struggling because of low earnings and inadequate fares. He urged TGSRTC to clearly communicate its policy and ensure that existing EV-auto drivers are given priority under the proposed connectivity programme. Priority for existing EV autosThe union demanded that no new EV autos be purchased or newly attached where sufficient existing EV autos are available. It also sought priority for existing EV autos and their drivers in the first- and last-mile connectivity programme. The union also urged TGSRTC to hold consultations with TGPWU and representatives of existing EV-auto drivers before finalising the implementation model.
