Amadeus, Festival Theatre, Niagara on the Lake – Shaw FestivalI’ve been a fan and patron of the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake for over 30 years. Amadeus was inspired by Alexander Pushkin’s short 1830 play, Mozart and Salieri. Shaffer did use artistic license in his play, so taking Amadeus as historical fact would be a misstep. The Shaw’s Amadeus, directed by Artistic Director Tim Carroll, is a great example of the incredible production values that this festival offers. In the Shaw’s production, Michael Therriault brings a different level of maturity.
