Mood Digital Services Ltd (MDSL), a technology company, has donated 50 HP laptops and other information technology equipment to the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) to strengthen the Commission’s IT-led and regional operations.
Major General Obuba Mantey said the changing nature of illicit drug trafficking and abuse, particularly the use of cyber platforms by persons involved in the trade, had become a major concern for the Commission.
He said NACOC was working to strengthen its capacity to identify and combat emerging forms of drug trafficking, including those facilitated through digital platforms.
The Director-General also appealed to other corporate institutions to partner with NACOC and support efforts to address the growing threat posed by drug trafficking and abuse in Ghana.
He said the partnership forms part of MDSL’s commitment to using technology to support national efforts to combat illicit drug trafficking and abuse.
