Mangione's lawyers and prosecutors filed a joint letter requesting that the hearing be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in Manhattan's Federal Court, which was then approved, NBC News reported. Two other federal charges, including murder through the use of a firearm, were dismissed. There will be an overflow space for Mangione's trial, just like there was in Diddy's trial, the judge said. Mangione didn't speak during Tuesday's hearing, and his next court date in the state trial was set for Sept. 8 for the start of jury selection. The federal trial is currently scheduled to take place in January 2027.
