Mourners arriving for the funeral of former Tory minister Ann Widdecombe at Buckfast AbbeyAround 100 family, friends and colleagues have attended the funeral service of former Tory minister Ann Widdecombe.
Mr Farage was campaigning in Clacton on Wednesday and did not wish to draw attention at Miss Widdecombe’s funeral, which the family asked to be kept private.
However, he is expected to attend a public memorial for Miss Widdecombe, which will be held later this year.
It states that donations made in memory of Miss Widdecombe will be divided between the Leprosy Mission and Abound, supporting the projects of the Christian Endeavour Hostel in India.
Miss Widdecombe was first elected as a Conservative MP in Kent in 1987, was a prisons minister in the 1990s and later became an MEP for the Brexit Party.
