Comments for St. Louis American
Former U.S. Rep. Cori Bush has spent recent months hiring staff and may be considering another run against U.S. Rep. Wesley Bell, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported today, citing sources close to Bush’s campaign.
Bush could make an official announcement as early as next week, the Post-Dispatch reported.
After she lost her congressional seat in the expensive August 2024 primary to Bell, then the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney, she hinted in her final House floor speech that she may return to Congress in 2026.
In a brief interview with Spectrum News in June, Bush said she wasn’t giving herself a timeline for making that decision.
Her campaign spokesperson at the time confirmed that the ex-congresswoman did indeed plan to seek a second term and that she was building a political action committee to support progressive candidates.
