The Osun State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects in two separate operations involving alleged violent crimes in Modakeke and an invasion of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree. The Command said four suspects were arrested in Modakeke, Ife East Local Government Area, over allegations of conspiracy, attempted murder, assault occasioning harm and unlawful possession of prohibited firearms. The locally manufactured firearm was reportedly recovered from Basirat’s shop, while the pump-action gun was found at Oluwakemi’s residence. In a separate operation, operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit arrested six suspected members of an unlawful society following an alleged invasion of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree. The Command also said efforts were ongoing to arrest other suspects allegedly linked to the Modakeke incident.
