Oyo State Government, south west Nigeria, has published a Climate Action Plan (OYCAP) 2026–2040 on its official website, making it accessible to citizens, development partners, investors, researchers, and other stakeholders worldwide.
The government said the publication aims to open the state to opportunities related to the document and help existing and prospective partners align with the state’s climate goals from 2026 to 2040.
Aderinto stated that the Plan aligns Oyo State’s climate actions with global frameworks, the Paris Agreement and Nigeria’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), thereby strengthening the state’s eligibility for climate funding and partnerships.
He called on local and international investment and development partners to take advantage of the framework provided by OYCAP to explore infrastructural and climate-resilient investment opportunities in Oyo State, stressing that the state is open to partnerships that will support sustainable development.
He revealed that the document can be accessed and downloaded from the environmental portal of the Oyo state government website.
