With the next comparable partial eclipse not due until 2050, this is a once-in-a-generation spectacle.
In Wales, the partial solar eclipse will be visible between 6.13pm and 8.06pm on Wednesday, as the moon begins to pass across the face of the sun before retreating just ahead of sunset.
Those hoping to get pictures or footage of the eclipse have however been warned that it could break their phones.
"The fix is simple, as long as you don't zoom in: hold your eclipse glasses in front of the camera lens.
