‌Last week's Fleadh Cheoil na héireann in the city saw more than 1.6 million attend, with the event being widely praised for its success. ‌Kelvin Collins of Cairdre Events, who operated the facilities at North Street car park during the Fleadh, said: "It was fantastic. "So we had a little bit of a downturn in trade, which is a little bit unfortunate, but it was an incredible event." ‌When asked what lessons there could be for the future, Shane said: "We are just outside the pedestrianised zone, so I think lessons for the future are eventually to pedestrianise a larger area. "I don't think there's any shortage of people, so having a little bit more space to place those people into, probably would have helped the entire city.
