By Hajara Muhammad GamboA mother of two, Hafsat Yusuf, on Wednesday, dragged her ex-husband, Muhammad Ahmad to a Shari’a Court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna, over alleged debt owed her and non-payment of monthly maintenance. He added that his client wanted the defendant Ahmad, to pay back the school fees because it was his responsibility and not hers. Umar also prayed the court to make the defendant take responsibility of the children’s school, hospital, feeding fees, well-being and N150, 000 for monthly maintenance. Ahmad added that he had been giving the complainant N30, 000 monthly and can only continue giving that same amount. The Judge, Malam Yakubu Abdullahi, adjourned the case to Sept. 2 for the complainant to produce her witnesses and present evidence of school fees payment.
