This could be one of several projects funded from the Visitor Levy which became payable in Edinburgh for overnight accommodation since 24 July.
This is only phase one – but phase two may follow quite quickly behind as the Culture and Communities Committee meets in September to consider assigning funding for the capital works from the Visitor Levy.
She is delighted that Phase One has been achieved, and is also hopeful about the future Visitor Levy funding.
In January 2025 when the levy was approved by the council, Council Leader, Jane Meagher, said: “What an historic moment for Edinburgh.
The Visitor Levy Advisory Forum has now held several meetings to discuss projects and offer recommendations to the council.
