No stopping on railroad tracks, Magog police say
['Matthew Mccully']
Sherbrooke Record
Record Staff (HB)Following complaints from the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC), the Memphremagog Police Board (RPM) is reminding drivers never stop or idle on railroad tracks.
The RPM drew attention specifically to the crossing on South Merry Street at the entrance to Merry Point in Magog.
On Aug. 10, RPM patrol officers, in collaboration with CPKC police, conducted a targeted operation to address offending drivers.
The RPM recognized that construction on Principale East Street and the influx of tourists is complicating traffic flow.
Nevertheless, similar operations will be carried out in the area to address the issue, and to continuously remind drivers to exercise patience and never stop their cars on railroad tracks.
