Ghana’s banking regulator and the SEC have launched a nationwide education campaign on cryptocurrency and digital assets, starting in Ashanti Region. A New Law, a New Awareness PushThe Bank of Ghana (BoG) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rolled out the National Virtual Asset Literacy Initiative (NaVALI) following Ghana’s Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, enacted as Act 1154. This law creates the first official rulebook for crypto platforms and digital asset activities in Ghana. According to regulators, fraud in the digital asset space is evolving rapidly. The initiative places education and public awareness at the centre of Ghana’s digital finance regulatory framework, equipping consumers with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions.
