That’s not to say that an enormous amount of “The End of Oak Street” isn’t immediately familiar, starting with the central family. If those films have struggled to find an off-island setting, “The End of Oak Street” instead brings the dino isle straight into suburbia. But where “The End of Oak Street” succeeds where so many others fail is in the sincerity it has for its characters.
