Daniel Ryan Schatz, 77, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, in Greenville, South Carolina. Prior to his retirement he was honored by the Department when they named the newest addition to Police Headquarters the Daniel Schatz Annex. Daniel was a proud and loving grandfather to Lucas and Norah Schatz, Blythe and Rhett Tong, and Masil Schatz. Daniel is survived by his beloved wife, Kandace Schatz; his son Ryan Schatz and his partner, Rebecca Morrison; his daughter Erin Schatz and her husband, Trevor Tong; and his son Kyle Schatz and his wife, Rachel Copen. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lenore Schatz, and his brothers, Robert Schatz and Dennis Schatz.
