Defensive back Donovan Jones earned the honor, being named to the 2026 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List. The Omaha native totaled 59 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss, and tied for the team lead with five pass breakups. Jones is the fourth Husker to be named to a watchlist, joining Jacory Barney (Paul Hornung Award), Justin Evans (Rimington Trophy) and Anthony Colandrea (Maxwell Award). In September, 11 student-athletes from the Watch List will be named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and become semifinalists for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy.
