Thirty CNG filling stations in Narayanganj have stopped supplying compressed natural gas due to low pipeline pressure, leading to long queues of vehicles at the few stations still operating.
Of the district’s 33 CNG filling stations, only three are currently receiving gas, according to the Bangladesh CNG Owners’ Association.
Several drivers said the shortage was cutting into their daily earnings, as they had to visit multiple stations and wait for hours to refuel.
During visits to two filling stations, this correspondent saw long queues of vehicles and drivers waiting for gas.
At nearby Sahabuddin CNG Filling Station, car driver Md Dulal Hossain said he had to wait in line for at least four hours before entering the station.
