The Minister today (Wednesday) published details of the review into the department’s implementation of a court Deprivation Order carried out in Fivemiletown at the end of June. Dr. Martin Blake, the former Chief Veterinary Officer for Ireland, has been appointed to lead the independent review. Mr. Muir said the case had been particularly complex and had understandably attracted significant public attention. The Minister said the review would provide an independent and evidence-based assessment of the department’s planning, decision-making and implementation of the operation. “I am determined this review will be thorough but not prolonged, so that any learning can be identified and implemented quickly,” he added.
