Emergency services were alerted at approximately 8.30pm last night after the man got into difficulty in the Annalee River at Drumaraw, Ballyhaise. He was recovered from the water but was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was subsequently taken to Cavan General Hospital, where a post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out.
