['Hour Ago']
The Bromsgrove Standard
ALVECHURCH scored two injury-time goals to claim a 3-1 derby win against 10-man Worcester City in the club’s first home game of the season.
Striker Miracle Okafor headed Church into the lead after just four minutes before Worcester’s Fabian Salmon received a straight red card on 22 minutes at Lye Meadow.
Worcester levelled through Liam Lockett in the first half before Okafor’s stoppage time penalty and a late strike from Manny Ilesanmi sealed the points for Church.
However, Worcester equalised on 34 minutes as Lockett intercepted Jack Kelly’s stray pass and rounded Redman Evans before finishing into an empty net from a tight angle.
Alvechurch are next in action against Needham Market on Saturday, August 15 with kick-off at 3pm at Lye Meadow.
