Two men fined for drinking in public as council tackles anti-social behaviour

Wayne Bickerstaff, 50, of Walpole Road in Great Yarmouth, was found guilty in his absence of consuming alcohol in Market Place in March.
Darren Lee Jones, 49, of no fixed address, was also convicted in his absence of two offences of drinking in public on Nelson Road North.
The convictions were secured at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court on August 5 following a prosecution by Great Yarmouth Borough Council.
Councillor Paul Wells, portfolio holder for environment and sustainability, licensing and waste at Great Yarmouth Borough Council, said: "We are determined to tackle issues of anti-social behaviour in the centre of Great Yarmouth whenever it happens.
The order prohibits public consumption of alcohol, begging, urinating in public, spitting and riding bikes or e-scooters on pathways.
