At least three children, aged one, one and a half, and six, drowned in separate incidents in Kalmakanda and Purbadhala upazilas of Netrokona this afternoon. The incidents occurred around noon in Kalaikandi village of Rangchhati union, Shunai village of Pogla union in Kalmakanda, and Jamud village of Dhalamulgaon union in Purbadhala. He was rescued and taken to Kalmakanda Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead. Family members found him floating in a ditch and rushed him to the same health complex, where he was pronounced dead. Kalmakanda Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Mostafizur Rahman said police visited the health complex after receiving the news.
