Asked about his relationship with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Dichter emphasized their long history. "We've known each other for 55 years," he said. "The attempt to drive a wedge between me and the Prime Minister is an old story." Dichter recounted that Netanyahu had raised the issue with him directly five or six years ago, after others had whispered to the Prime Minister that Dichter had made critical statements. "I told him: not at all, nothing of the sort," Dichter said, denying the claims entirely.
