The vehicle fire brought traffic to a standstill and disrupted public transport in Cricklewood yesterday afternoon (August 11) along Edgware Road at the junction with Gladstone Park. In video obtained by this publication, flames could be seen engulfing the bonnet of a car on Edgware Road while other vehicles attempted to navigate around the blaze. Emergency services were called just after 1.30pm, forcing the closure of the road in both directions and causing long tailbacks. At 6pm, AA Traffic confirmed that the incident had been cleared and that traffic was returning to normal in the vicinity.
