Heathrow technician dies after explosion inside Boeing 787 fuel tank

Georgie Buxton, aged 23, died 27 days after suffering critical head and neck injuries caused by a non-combustion explosion while working inside a Boeing 787 fuel tank at Heathrow Airport on June 11.
Mr Buxton was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in London, where he underwent several surgeries and remained in intensive care.
An inquest opened at West London Coroner’s Court has been paused while the criminal investigation continues.
His family has launched a fundraiser in his memory, supporting London’s Air Ambulance and the intensive care unit at St Mary’s Hospital.
A coroner has suspended the inquest pending the outcome of the criminal investigation.
