Fifteen fire engines have been called to Ripple Road in Barking, where thick black smoke was seen billowing above the area. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said crews were dispatched from stations in Barking, Dagenham, Ilford and other locations. A section of the A13 has been closed to support firefighting operations.
