Amid shrinking fuel supply channels and escalating Russian strikes on fuel infrastructure, Ukraine needs to build decentralized, small underground petroleum product storage facilities, according to Serhiy Kuyun, director of the consulting firm A-95. "There’s only one way out - storage in underground facilities. Kuyun said the goal in building underground storage should not be large facilities, since these are more vulnerable to complex missile strikes. "But if every importer builds its own small storage facilities of 3,000-4,000-5,000-10,000 cubic meters, that would already be a much more resilient setup. "I think that when planning fuel supply strategy for the coming months, it’s better to write off the South (...).
