The chairman of Scalloway Community Council is calling on SRT to “formally approach” Shetland Charitable Trust in the hope that more funding can be secured. In a letter to SRT chairman David Thomson, Mr Bisset states: “I am writing to request that the Shetland Recreational Trust (SRT) formally approach the Shetland Charitable Trust (SCT) to secure funding for the reopening of the Scalloway Pool. He added: “The recent news that the Shetland Charitable Trust achieved a £41 million profit from its investments presents a unique and timely opportunity.
