Malta’s U20 men’s water polo team has pulled off a thrilling 13-12 victory over Romania at the European Aquatics U20 Water Polo Championships in Varna, Bulgaria. It was an incredibly tight encounter, but the young Maltese side managed to edge Romania by a single goal to secure an important win in the tournament’s group stage. European Aquatics confirms Malta and Romania are competing in Group D of the elite competition, alongside the Netherlands and Czechia. Jayden Cutajar led Malta’s scoring with six goals, while Elijah Schembri added three. Luigi Dimech scored twice, with Dean Bugeja and Jayden Cassar also finding the net.
