Visually impaired ‘secret shoppers’ put Edinburgh Fringe venues to the test

They have now begun making unannounced visits to venues, attending shows and testing the full customer journey for themselves.
The volunteers are assessing whether training is leading to practical improvements for people with sight loss.
The programme has also expanded, with more venues across Scotland requesting accessibility training.
Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans are also working with Extant, the UK’s leading professional performing arts company of blind and visually impaired artists, to highlight disabled talent and improve accessibility at the Fringe.
