Directly viewing the sun without eclipse glasses can lead to lasting eye damage, so with many retailers not stocking the ISO 12312-2 safety standard glasses some of us will have to find ingenious work arounds to enjoy the event safely. This way you will be able view the eclipse safely on your phone screen, with your eyes away from the sun. The next way is a bit more old fashioned, using your kitchen colander to once again indirectly get a view of the eclipse.
