A Colombian woman living in Malta has launched a fundraiser to support communities back home affected by the recent earthquake. Maria Fernanda Arrubla Lopez, whose family lives in Medellín, said being thousands of kilometres away left her feeling helpless, prompting her to find a way to contribute from Malta. Maria said her family in Colombia is organising and purchasing supplies which will be distributed to affected communities, including Chocó, Manizales, Pereira and surrounding areas. Money raised will go towards essentials, including food, medicines, hygiene products and other necessary supplies, with the fundraiser currently aiming to collect €2,000. A donation, a share, a repost… it all counts,” Maria said, calling on friends in Malta and around the world to lend a hand.
