After facing closure of the Trail Health Centre laboratory one year ago, one year later Interior Health confirmed outpatient laboratory services will instead continue at the centre in downtown Trail. In late June 2025 in an IH virtual board meeting, vice president of quality, research and academic affairs, Glenn McRae, addressed the issue of the announced closure of the Trail Health Centre laboratory. “Doing that will give us the opportunity to allow laboratory staff that previously worked at the Trail Health Centre to support ongoing lab services at KBRH,” he said. Outpatient laboratory services will also continue to be available at the LifeLabs Trail Patient Service Centre at Waneta Plaza.
