NET Web DeskWest Bengal has extended a helping hand to Assam as the state battles one of its worst flood crises in recent years.
On Wednesday, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced that Rs 10 crore will be provided from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to aid Assam in its relief and rehabilitation efforts.
Adhikari described the situation in Assam as “terrifying,” noting that more than 100 lives have already been lost to the floods.
He emphasized the deep spiritual bond between West Bengal and Assam, adding that the gesture reflects solidarity with the people of the neighbouring state.
He also pointed out that other states, including Manipur and Chhattisgarh, have already announced assistance, and West Bengal’s contribution is part of a collective effort to support Assam during this humanitarian crisis.
