GRAND FORKS — The Northern Valley Youth Orchestras will present a free outdoor concert Friday, Aug. 14, at the Myra Museum gazebo on the grounds of the Grand Forks County Historical Society, 2405 Belmont Road. The concert, which starts at 11:30 a.m., marks the end of the weeklong Dal Segno chamber music camp. The camp’s half-day program, which focuses on orchestra and chamber music, allows students to fulfill other summer commitments, “and still gain the valuable music camp experience,” she said. “We even have had campers who only recently moved to the area and whose first activity is participating in Dal Segno” and, right away, they build connections to the music community, Welsh said. Performing the entertaining outdoor concerts for the community reminds students of how music can impact the community, she said.
