Gwent Police are investigating a report of an assault at The Crow’s Nest at about 10.25pm on Saturday, August 1. Officers and Welsh Ambulance Service crews attended the pub, where the 102-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. A witness, who asked to remain anonymous, said the man lived independently and was a regular at the pub. They said he went onto a stage, which was reached by three steps, to ask for the music to be turned down. “He was pushed, causing him to fall down the three steps and broke his hip.
