It happened on the A602 Hitchin Road in Stevenage at around 3.15am. The lorry had been travelling along the road toward the A1 when it hit the 43-year-old from Borehamwood near the Sainsburys. He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries. Road closures were put in place on the Hitchin Road between the Coreys Mill roundabout and Junction 8 of the A1(M), while the lorry was recovered and road crash investigators attended the scene.
